Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova began playing at age 6. Speaks Russian, English and French. Was trained from 2007-2009 at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in France. Her family has a vast athletic background - her grandmother played basketball for the USSR, her grandfather was a high-level basketball official; her father as an Olympic-level canoeist and her mother was a swimmer.
She enjoys watching figure skating, shopping, dancing, music and sleeping. She is coached by Charlos Cuadrardo on tour and by her father Sergey in Moscow.
