Germany's Benjamin Becker is the son of Jorg, a tax worker, and Ulrike, who works at a retail store. Becker began playing the sport at age seven and has a younger sister named Kathrin.
Despite frequent questions, Becker is not related to former German legend Boris Becker.
Benjamin's nickname is "Benni" and played four years at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, making all-American status three times and winning the NCAA singles title in 2004. Becker majored in finance and international business and needs one more semester to finish that degree.
