American Bethanie Mattek-Sands is the daughter of Tim, an accountant and Heidi, a nurse. She also has two brothers, Chad and Andrew, and a sister named Alison. Completing her family are husband Justin, whom she married on November 29, 2008, and her dog, Ruger. She is coached by Adam Altschuler with Jay Schroeder as her fittness coach. She began playing at the age of five and spent time at the Chris Evert and Rick Macci academies.
