Caroline Wozniacki was born to parents Piotr, a former professional soccer player in Denmark and Poland, and Anna, a member of the Polish national volleyball team. Her brother, Patrik is also a professional soccer player. She began playing tennis at the age of seven. Her favorite actor is Brad Pitt, and she enjoys soccer, swimming, shopping and reading. Wozniacki's tennis idols are Martina Hingis and Steffi Graf.
Her first tour-level event came in Cincinnati at the age of fifteen, where she was defeated in the first round by Patty Schnyder. It would be three years before she would reach her first final, winning in Stockholm in 2008 for her first tour-level title.
