Full name is Fernando Verdasco Carmona. He began playing tennis at age four with his father, Jose, on two hard courts in the family backyard. His father and mother, Olga, own a restaurant in Madrid. He also has two sisters, Sara and Ana. Is good friends with fellow Spaniard Feliciano Lopez. Closely follows soccer squad Real Madrid. Likes to travel, particularly to Miami in the United States. He posed nude for Cosmo Magazine in July 2008 to raise awareness of cancer in men.
