Ryussia's Igor Andreev is the son of Valeri, a businessman, and Marina, a housewife.
He began playing tennis at the age of seven at the Moscow sports center Spartak. He has a younger brother, Nikita, who is also a tennis player.
When he was 15, Andreev moved from Russia to Spain, for training, and he continues to live there - now speaking three languages: Russian, English and Spanish.
His hobbies outside of tennis include hockey and he lists his favorite team as HC Dynamo Moscow.
