Lucie Safarova began playing tennis at just three years of age, and was coached by her father Milan as a child. Her mother's name is Jana and she has one sister, Veronika. She speaks three languages- Czech, German and English and grew up as a big fan of Steffi Graf and Lindsay Davenport. Also enjoys playing basketball, table tennis and swimming. Favorite surface to play on is clay. Coached by Biljana Veselinovic, and uses David Vydra as a physical trainer. Has a dog named Kuba.
