France's Marion Bartoli is the daughter of Dr. Walter Bartoli and mother Sophie, a nurse. Her father introduced her to tennis and continues to be her coach. He introduced her to the game when she was six years old.
Her brother, Franck, is also an avid tennis player, and is in the French Army. Bartoli's favorite sport is football and her favorite squad is Olympique de Marseille. She is a big Russell Crowe fan and lists "Gladiator" and "A Beautiful Mind" as her two favorite movies. She is an athletic woman, who also enjoys playing volleyball and basketball and jet skiing. Her most-admired tennis players are Pete Sampras and Monica Seles.
