Nicolas "Nico" Almagro Sanchez is the son of Nicolas and Mercedes. He has two siblings, Juan and Balta, who are both teachers.
Almagro began playing tennis at the age of eight, playing with his older brothers in their hometown of Murica.
His best surface is clay, and he considers his forehand to be his best shot.
Has stated on numerous occasions that if he had not played tennis, he would have liked to play football (soccer). He is a fan of real-life soccer squads Real Murcia and Real Madrid. In addition, he enjoys music, computers and comedies, especially "Entourage" and "How I Met Your Mother"
