Currently ranked No. 20 in the world, American Sam Querrey has seven career ATP titles.
He has been ranked as high as No. 18 in the world, first achieving that rank on May 7, 2010. His highest doubles ranking is No. 23, reached on May 17, 2010.
He jumped from 615th to 130th in 2006, becoming the fourth-youngest player to finish in the Top 150. His first ATP win came at Indian Wells, where he lost to eventual finalist James Blake in three sets.In 2007, he finished his first full ATP season ranked No. 63, winning 19 matches. He reached the third round of the Australian Open and made it to the quarterfinals of the US Open in doubles.
In 2008, he entered the Top 40 (39th), winning his first ATP title and reaching the fourth round of the US Open. His title came in Las Vegas.
At the US Open, he defeated No. 14 Ivo Karlovic in the third round, then lost to Rafael Nadal in the fourth. In 2009, he finished No. 25, going 41-23 and recording one title in five finals. The title came in Los Angeles.
His season was cut short in September when a glass table he was sitting on while putting on his shoes collapsed, cutting his right arm. Doctors would later reveal that if the cut had been a few inches over, it would have damaged nerves in his serving arm and possibly ended his career.
In 2010, he teamed with Mardy Fish to win the San Jose doubles title, their first. He followed that up by winning both the singles and doubles crowns in Memphis. He defeated fellow American John Isner in the singles final, then teamed with Isner to take the doubles crown. In early June, he won at the Queen’s Club, beating Fish. It was the first all-American final at the tournament since 1994.
