China's Shuai Peng began playing at age eight when her uncle showed her the game. Favorite all-time players are Steffi Graf and John McEnroe. Is only the third Chinese player in WTA history to reach a top 20 ranking. Won the gold medal at the 2010 Asian games. Her father, Peng Ji Jun, is a police officer, while her mother is named Zhang Bing. Is coached by Alan Ma. Off the court, she enjoys Chinese cuisine, reading, playing soccer, swimming and shopping.
