(November 29, 2012) -- Acura, a leading global luxury automotive maker, announced today it has signed a deal to become the title sponsor of the PowerShares Series event in Anaheim, CA. The Acura Champions Cup, which will be held at the Honda Center on Friday, Nov. 30, will serve as the final event of the 2012 PowerShares Series tennis season.

“Acura is excited to become the title sponsor of the Acura Champions Cup and to be a part of the PowerShares Series event at the Honda Center”, said Tom Peyton, AVP, Advertising & Marketing, American Honda. “We feel the Acura brand is a perfect fit and we are looking forward to the event”.

Featuring many of the all-time great tennis talents and personalities, including Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, and Jim Courier, the PowerShares Series plays 12 one-night events with the players competing for a prize pool totaling $1 million, to be shared by the top three finishers of the tour at the conclusion of the season. The winner takes home $500,000, 2nd place receives $350,000 and 3rd place secures $150,000.

“We are excited to partner with an iconic brand like Acura,” said Jon Venison, Founding Partner of InsideOut Sports + Entertainment, which operates the business side of the PowerShares Series. “As title partner of the event, Acura is continuing the great tradition of bringing world-class tennis and entertainment to Southern California and we are thrilled to be working with them on the season finale this week in Anaheim."

Heading into the final weekend, Courier holds the top ranking with a total of 1500 points, while McEnroe is in the second position with 1200. Agassi -- the recent winner in San Jose and Las Vegas -- currently sits in fourth place with 900 total points and can overtake Courier and McEnroe with wins in Denver and Anaheim.
