May 6 - Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova turns 24. Cibulkova has two WTA titles to date, winning at Moscow in 2011 and at Carslbad in 2012. She is currently ranked No.15 in the world and has made the quarterfinals of three Grand Slam events, most recently the French Open in 2012.
May 7 - America's Ryan Harrison, who has been ranked as high as No. 43 in the world, turns 21. As a junior, reached No. 7 in the world. His best performance was at Newport in 2012 when he reached the semifinals.
May 10 - Former world No. 1 Manuel Santana turns 75. Santana achieved the No. 1 mark in 1966, just before the start of the Open Era. Santana won 16 singles titles in his career including the French Open in 1961 and 1964, Wimbledon in 1966 and the US Open in 1965. He also won a doubles Grand Slam at the French Open in 1963 and won the title in men's singles at the Olympics in 1968 when tennis was an exhibition sport. He was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1984.
May 11 - American Christina McHale turns 21. The WTA player has been ranked as high as 24th in singles and is currently ranked 55th. She made the third round of three of the four Grand Slams in 2012. She first rose to prominence in 2011 when she defeated then-No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki at the Western & Southern Open.
