Novak Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka are among the top seeds in the singles draw at this week’s Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, but the pair of former champions are also angling to do some damage in doubles as well. Djokovic, a champion in singles at Monte-Carlo in 2013 and 2015, and Troicki defeated Gilles Muller and Gilles Simon, 7-5, 6-3, to set up a second-round encounter with top seeds Henri Kontinen and John Peers.

Wawrinka, the 2014 singles champion at Monte-Carlo, paired with Fabio Fognini to earn a 6-4, 7-6(2) victory over Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor. The Swiss-Italian pair will square off with second-seeded Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the second round.
