Novak Djokovic was happy to survive the onslaught of shotmaking that Frenchman Gael Monfils threw at him during Wednesday’s nip-and-tuck battle, which the Serb won in a third-set tiebreaker.

You can view the unpredictable nature of Monfils’ shotmaking above—sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but always it entertains.

Here’s what Djokovic had to say about the experience of playing Monfils. Keep in mind that the Serb improved his record to 10-0 against Monfils, so if it’s problematic for Djokovic to face him, imagine how tough it must be for other, less talented players:

“Gaël is Gaël,” he said. “That's what he does. He loves jumping around, sliding, he's very unpredictable. You don't know what his next move is, so that's why he's so interesting. I said before that he's probably the only guy in the world, tennis player, that I would pay a ticket to watch the match. He's really fun to watch but not so much fun to play against.”
