"I like to watch Dustin Brown as a shotmaker, I like to watch Roger,” he said. “Sometimes, I can't even explain (the shotmaking). Sometimes instinct takes over and I just do it. "I do it because I want to do it. That's the nature of it. People like it, then you know, that's good. I think I really like the court here and the crowd is always very supportive and here and it pushes me a lot."

Monfils victory sets up a third-round encounter with Spain’s Nicolas Almagro. After No. 5 seed Milos Raonic fell to Ryan Harrison on Day 3, there isn’t a single seeded player standing between Monfils and the quarterfinals.
