Second Serve

Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert claimed their second title in as many weeks with a 7-6(6), 6-4 win over Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares in Sunday’s Western and Southern Open men’s doubles final.

The Frenchmen saved all four break points they faced and clinched victory when Herbert struck a fantastic backhand return winner on match point.

The victory marks the third Masters 1000 title for Mahut and Herbert and their sixth overall.

The French duo has now won three consecutive Masters 1000 titles for the second time in their careers. They won Indian Wells, Miami and Monte-Carlo in succession last season.
