Thiem: Tsitsipas Top 10 in a Year

Facing Stefanos Tsitsipas five times this season has given Dominic Thiem insight into the 19-year-old Greek's game.

The Roland Garros runner-up is very impressed with what he sees.

Zverev: Why I'll Quit

Tsitsipas slashed 13 aces, won 38 of 40 points played on his first serve and did not face a break point stopping Thiem, 6-3, 7-6 (6), in Toronto today.

It was Tsitsipas' second win over the seventh-seeded Austrian in five meetings this year.

Thiem says Tsitsipas' greatest strength is a lack of a real weakness.

"He's a very tall guy, serving big," Thiem said. "But I think for his height, he's moving very well. And he has no, really, weakness. He's playing fast and aggressive from both sides."

The eighth-ranked Thiem predicts Tsitisipas will crack the Top 10 within a year.

"I think [Tsitsipas is a] top, top player of future," Thiem said. "And I think in the next one, two years, we will see him in the top 10."

Ranked a career-high No. 27 following his run to the Washington, DC semifinals last weekend, Tsitsipas says he's committed to continuing his rise.

"At the moment I'm just concentrating getting high in the rankings," Tsitsipas said. "Even one spot for me is a big thing. So I'm just trying to concentrate and getting as many points as I can, staying concentrated in my work.

"And I'm pretty sure I'll be facing all those NextGen players many times in the future. I have no doubt about that. I'm pretty sure again that they're going to have wins against me, and I'm going to have wins against them. The solution to that is just to read their games and be slightly better than them.

"It will be very interesting to be facing all those players like Shapovalov, Aliassime, de Minaur, Zverev. It will be a very interesting competition between us in many years to come from now."
