Goodnight, thanks for coming, and you guys rock!

That was basically the jist of Daniil Medvedev’s post-match interview—with a little bit of WWF thrown in. The Russian taunted the crowd after his four-set victory over Feliciano Lopez on Day 5, telling them that they deserve a lot of credit for his victory.

“I want all of you to know, when you sleep tonight: I won because of you,” he said.

It was a wild affair that featured Medvedev angrily flipping the bird to the crowd--which didn't endear him but did lend itself to the Friday night at the Open atmosphere.

In the end Medvedev was too good for Lopez--the Cincinnati now has racked up nine consecutive wins.

Medvedev will face Germany’s Dominik Koepfer on Sunday and it will be interesting to see how the No.5 seed interacts with the crowd.
