Kim Clijsters made US Open history 15 years ago becoming the first woman to sweep both US Open Series and US Open championships the same season.

This month, the Hall of Famer will be doubling up again in New York.

Three-time US Open singles champion Clijsters has been awarded a wild card into the doubles draw to go along with her US Open singles wild card.

Clijsters and Hailey Baptiste were one of four teams given main-draw wild cards.

The 37-year-old Clijsters, one of a handful of players in Open Era history to hold the world No. 1 ranking in singles and doubles simultaneously, won the 2003 Roland Garros and Wimbledon doubles crowns partnering Ai Sugiyama.

The list of four US Open women's main draw wild cards is here:

  • Kim Clijsters and Hailey Baptiste
  • Ann Li and Bernarda Pera
  • Christina McHale and Usue Arconada
  • Jessica Pegula and Shelby Rogers

Defending US Open doubles champions Aryna Sabalenka and Elise Mertens headline the 32-team doubles draw.

Players entered and were accepted this year using only their doubles ranking. In previous years, the better of each player's singles or doubles ranking was used for entry in a 64-team draw.

Doubles play at the 2020 US Open begins on Wednesday, September 2nd.

Other notable teams entered in the US Open women's draw are Kristina Mladenovic and Timea Babos, Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Zhang Shuai, former Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka and reigning Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin and young Americans Cati McNally and Coco Gauff

The Williams sisters are not on the doubles entry list.
