Updated: Sloane Stephens Mulling Pairing with  Nick Saviano in 2015


Stephanie Myles of Open Court reports that Eugenie Bouchard’s ex-coach Nick Saviano will work with American Sloane Stephens in 2015.

Stephens started a relationship with Saviano when she began training at his academy at the age of 12. Recently, she was photographed working on her game at Saviano’s academy in Plantation, Fla.


“And just a few weeks after parting ways with Genie Bouchard, we can tell you that the veteran coach will work with Stephens – whom he has coached before – in 2015, pending them working out the details of a deal (which is no small thing)” writes Myles.

No official announcement has been made by Saviano or Stephens, but Myles confirmed the pairing over Twitter.

Stephens peaked at a ranking of 11 in October of 2013, but struggled in 2014, dropping to a season-ending 36 in the WTA’s rankings.

The 21-year-old American Paul Annacone in July, and briefly worked with Tommy Hogstedt. She struggled with wrist injuries after the US Open and did not see action past September.

Update: Tennis.com's Matt Cronin is reporting that Stephens is working with Saviano, but the pair haven't ironed out an agreement for 2015 as of yet. He writes that they should decide something in the next week.
