Sloane Stephens continues to crack milestones well into the 2017 season thatsaw her shock the world and win her first major title at the U.S. Open.

Add college grad to Stephens’ ever growing list of achievements.


Stephens became and Indiana University East alumna after completing her B.A. in Communication Studies degree. She completed her degree on line, but stopped by the campus to take part in a celebration.

Stephens is part of a partnership that has been formed between the University and the WTA Tour. 20 students are currently enrolled at IU East.

“Getting my degree has been the highlight of my life," Stephens said at the reception, according to WTATennis.com. “Education has always been very important for myself and my family. Many in my family are college graduates and receiving my degree has been a goal of mine. I’m so excited to work closely with the WTA and Indiana University East to make this a reality.”
