Fabio Fognini became the first Italian to reach the ATP’s Top 10 in 40 years in 2019. In 2020, he’ll join forces with the man he’ll be forever joined with in Italian tennis lore.

Fognini, currently ranked 12 in the world, has hired Corrado Barazzutti as his coach for the 2020 season.

“I’m happy to introduce my new Team Fogna!” Fognini wrote on social media. “I’m excited to be working with Corrado Barazzutti as my head coach and with Stefano Barsacchi, trainer, Giovanni Teoli, physio and Alberto Giraudo. I can’t wait to start the new season!”

Fognini went 30-24 on the season and won his first Masters 1000 title at Monte-Carlo. He peaked at a career-high ranking of No.9 in the world.

Barazzutti was the last Italian to have ranked in the Top 10, back in 1979.
