19-year-old sensation might one day be the type of star who joins forced with a legendary “supercoach.” But the time for that is not now, says Zverev, according to the German publication Bild.

Zverev says that fellow German Boris Becker could definitely teach him a thing or two, but as it stands now, the six-time major champion is out of his price range.

“Boris could definitely help me to improve my game,” Zverev told Bild. “But if I want to work with him, first I have to win some tournaments because at the moment I cannot afford it.

“So if I wanted to do it, I would have to wait at least a couple of years.”

Zverev, who is coached by his parents and travels extensively with his 29-year-old brother and longtime ATP pro Mischa Zverev, is progressing nevertheless.

Last year the German played the Open Sud de France with a ranking of 85 in the world; this year he enters as the No.4 seed and a ranking of 21.

According to Bild, Becker seems to think that Zverev has all the tools. But that is no guarantee that he’ll reach the top of the sport.

"He has a lot of talent, but ten others have it,” he said. “It takes much more than talent."

Becker, who is now commentating with Eurosport after parting ways with Novak Djokovic at the end of last season, believes that Zverev is in good hands with his current set-up.

"His father is former Davis Cup player, the mama has been on the tennis courts for decades, his older brother Mischa is an important building block,” he said. “He has a family environment that supports and protects him. That could make the difference in the next few years. "
