Roger Federer has signed on to play the Swiss Indoors Basel for the next three years. The 18-time major champion said in a statement announcing the news on swisstennis.ch: "I cannot wait to return to my home country in the autumn. Playing in Basel is always a highlight of the year."
Federer is scheduled to return to action next week at the Dubai Duty Free Championships. The 35-year-old Swiss is a 12-time finalist at Basel and a seven-time winner. He won the event in his last appearance, defeating Rafael Nadal in the 2015 final.
