Boris Becker coached Novak Djokovic and asserts the world No. 1 can break Roger Federer's record of 20 Grand Slam titles—though Becker believes 17-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal can also surpass the Swiss.

Former No. 1 Becker says Federer is capable of adding to his Grand Slam title total as well.

"Who says Roger's not going to win more than 20? Maybe he's going to win Wimbledon this year," Becker told the media ahead of the Laureus Awards. "I wouldn't rule out (Djokovic breaking the record). Can he do it? Yeah, but so can Rafa. Rafa has 17.

"There are big question marks. These three champions keep on winning and until they still play tennis, nothing is sure."

Becker said he was as surprised as anyone by Djokovic's resounding return from elbow surgery last February to capturing three consecutive Grand Slam crowns.

Becker called the Serbian's resurgence "remarkable."

"A year ago, he was just going through a break and elbow surgery and was just trying to find his feet again in tennis," Becker said of Djokovic. "For him to catapult himself back like that was not to be expected but he has a champion's mentality. He knows what it takes to win and he's fully on it.

"It's remarkable."
