David Goffin parted ways with longtime coach Theirry Van Cleemput after the Australian Open. The Belgian has reconnected with an old coach to fill the void. Goffin announced that he’ll be working with former World No.7 Thomas Johansson, starting at Indian Wells.

Goffin and Johansson worked together in nine months during what was a very productive 2016 season for the Belgian. Under the auspices of the Swede Goffin reached back-to-back semi-finals at Indian Wells and then reached his first major quarter-final at Roland Garros. He also played his first 500 final at Tokyo later that season.

The pair parted ways at the end of 2016.

Goffin is 4-5 thus far in 2019, but is coming off his first semi-final of the season in Marseille.
