Jack Sock has crashed out of the next few months of the ATP Tennis season. The American has reportedly had surgery on his index finger (no official word on which side yet) after suffering ligament damage. Originally sources, including Tennis Channel, had reported that Sock's injury came due to a snowboarding accident, but his brother Eric has since confirmed otherwise.

Eric Sock posted on Twitter that the injury occurred in Melbourne while working out, and isn't currently clear how much time Sock will be out at least for two months. Currently at 104 in the world in singles and 2 in the world in doubles, 26-year-old Sock was hoping to rebuild his singles ranking in 2019 after suffering through a miserable 2018 that saw him drop out of the Top 10 and all the way down to 107.
