Osaka: Fiercest Fight in Final

The silver standard is one reason for Naomi Osaka's success in Grand Slam finals.

Osaka swept 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams 6-3, 6-4 charging into the Australian Open final for the second time in the last three years.

Three-time Grand Slam champion Osaka rides a 20-match winning streak into Saturday's final against 22nd-seeded American Jennifer Brady. Osaka has solidified her status as a big-match player improving her record to 11-0 in major quarterfinals, semifinals and finals.

What's her secret?

A deep desire to leave her name on Grand Slam silverware.

"For me, I have this mentality that people don't remember the runners up. You might, but the winner's name is the one that's engraved," Osaka told the media in Melbourne. "I think I fight the hardest in the finals. I think that's where you sort of set yourself apart. It's the other person won as many matches as you did.

"It's something that I think, I don't know, it's like the biggest fight."
