Roger Federer defeated Marin Cilic, 6-2, 6-7(5), 6-3, 3-6, 6-1, to win the 2018 Australian Open. Federer claims his record 20th Grand Slam title and his sixth Australian Open title.

The Swiss was made to work hard by Cilic, who rallied from a break down in the fourth set to force a decider before yielding in the fifth.

Federer has now won six straight five-setters since turning 35, including four at the Australian Open. He improves to 30-20 lifetime in five-setters and 9-1 lifetime against Cilic.
