Second Serve

Caroline Wozniacki's third-round win over Kiki Bertens came with a contentious subplot.

Wozniacki feuded with the chair umpire throughout an otherwise straight forward 6-4, 6-3 conquest that sent her into the Australian Open fourth round for the first time in five years.

"It's ridiculous how many bad, terrible calls you made today," Wozniacki told chair umpire at one point.

The second-seeded Dane bickered with the chair umpire over line calls, an over-rule and wet spots on the court.

Afterward, Wozniacki called out the ump's performance.

"I think he did a poor job today," Wozniacki said. "If the court is wet, I think it's normal to ask for a towel. I don't think someone needs to be rude, and I told him so. I think there were some questionable calls, as well. Obviously on the first match point, it was out. He should have seen that, as well.

"I don't know. I think there's a way he can be strict but not rude, if that makes sense. I just think he was being rude today."

On match point, Wozniacki did not stop to challenge a Bertens shot that landed long. Wozniacki erupted with this reaction to the no-call.
