HBO Sports to Produce Wimbledon Mockumentary

Andy Samberg and Kit Harington will play the titular roles in "7 Days in Hell," an HBO Sports mockumentary about the "longest match" at Wimbledon. Samberg, the SNL-alum and Brookyln Nine-Nine star, and Harington, the Game of Thrones star, will play rivals who contest a seven-day match at the 2004 Wimbledon Championships.

Deadline.com describes the film as follows:

"Written by Murray Miller (Girls) based on an original concept by him and Samberg, the sports mockumentary stars Samberg and Harington as fierce tennis rivals in an epic, seven-day match at 2004 Wimbledon."

Confirmed to co-star in the film so far are Samberg's fellow SNL alums, Fred Armisen and Will Forte, Lena Dunham of Girls, Karen Gillan, Howie Mandel, Michael Sheen, Mary Steenburgen and June Squibb. Emmy-award winning news anchor S
oledad O’Brien will also reportedly be playing herself.

While no release date is confirmed yet, Hollywood Reporter states that "
Samberg will play Aaron Williams, a superstar tennis "bad boy," while Harington is set as Charles Lloyd Poole, an Andy Murray-type prodigy and certified truck driver."

John Isner and Nicolas Mahut played the longest match on record at Wimbledon in 2010, with Isner prevailing 70-68 in the fifth after three days of play.
