Federer the Featherer



You have your drop shots and you have your excellent drop shots and you have your flubbed drop shots. Yes, droppers come in all shapes and sizes, and come in all situations too, particularly on grass.

But rarely do they come off a return, and even rarer do they happen to be struck this exquisitely.

This drop shot by Roger Federer against the hard-serving Milos Raonic is, quite simply, as good as they come. Feathered fabulously, it hardly clears the net before gently nestling into the 8 millimeter-length blades of grass up near the net where players hardly tread these days.
