Dunlop Launches New FX Series

Dunlop is putting power in your hands.

The brand bills its new FX Series of five premium racquets as "power at full force."

More: Wimbledon Will Pay Prize Money

The FX Series offers full of technology and is the first range to feature Dunlop’s innovative Power Boost Groove technology, which provides players with a larger sweet-spot, resulting in more power.

Dunlop says the FX Series was thoroughly tested by Dunlop Srixon engineers in Kobe, Japan, with the frames demonstrating an average rebound property of 4.8% at all impact positions, versus the same racquet without the groove. This results in more power with more consistency across the string bed.

“The FX Series is a result of tireless work by our global research and development team,” said Masahiro Asahino, Head of Tennis Division for SRI. “The end product is a range of power rackets designed for the modern game with players benefiting from increased consistency, control and feel. Every player, no matter their ability, is after power, and that’s exactly what this series delivers.

"Combine this new power series with our existing series (SX – Spin, CX – Control) and we now have a technically advanced racquet for every type of playing style and ability, enhancing every game and helping to spread health and happiness through tennis.”

The FX Series also features four other key technologies to help deliver ultimate power, with consistency, feel and forgiveness. They are as follows:

Power Boost Frame Geometry: An aerodynamic head shape with a sharp, modern looking shaft and wider throat for more stability all combining to increase power and stability through the shot.

Flex Touch Resin: A completely new material with a unique, high-performance thermoplastic elastomer compound, with high elasticity and vibration dampening properties, resulting in increased touch and feel.

Sonic Core Made with Infinergy by BASF: The FX Series also benefit from the use of Sonic Core made with Infinergy® by BASF, innovative technology first seen in the CX Series. Located in the 2 and 10 o’clock areas of the racquet, Infinergy® is the world’s first E-TPU (expanded thermoplastic polyurethane) developed by BASF.

Powergrid String Tech: The FX Series also inherits this technology from the CX Series, which offers a pattern that’s dense in the middle of the racket and wider at the top of the racket. This technology creates more even power distribution, especially towards the top of the racket which is utilised more often by the modern-day player.

The FX Series follows the release of two additional product silos: the SX Series, which provides players with more Spin and the CX Series, which provides players with increased control.

The FX name reflects Dunlop’s new Elements of the Game naming concept designed to simplify consumer understanding and reflect the main performance benefit of each racket range; FX - Power, SX – Spin, CX – Control.
