The Philadelphia Freedoms toppled the Chicago Storm in a battle for first place on Tuesday at the Greenbrier.

Taylor Fritz and Fabrice Martin each won twice to propel the Freedoms to a 23-19 victory over Chicago, with Fritz and Martin opening the contest with a doubles victory over Evan King and Rajeev Ram.

Fritz topped Brandon Nakashima and Martin paired with Taylor Townsend to defeat Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Ram.

Sofia Kenin topped Sloane Stephens to give the Freedoms a 20-13 lead.

In other action on Tuesday Ajla Tomljanovic recorded 12 points in her debut and Bob and Mike Bryan finished off a 5-2 victory over Steve Johnson and Austin Krajicek to lead the Rollers to a 21-19 victory over the Orange County Breakers.

Bob Bryan opened the match with a mixed doubles victory alongside Tomjlanovic, and finished it with his brother Mike to elevate the Rollers to 4-4 and fourth place in the standings.

“Mike was sitting on the bench all night and he came out and he played amazing. He came in cold and hit some fantastic returns and then served a great last game.”
