Watch: Leo Borg Training at Rafa Nadal Academy

Björn Borg has coached Rafael Nadal in Laver Cup competition.

Now, there's a new Borg-Nadal connection.

Berrettini: Decision on US Open Next Week

Leo Borg, the 17-year-old son of the Swedish superstar, has joined the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca.

Both Björn Borg and Leo Borg initially visited the Academy last summer. Leo Borg planned to move to the Academy in the spring, however he was unable to do so due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Swedish teenager has been training on the Academy's red clay courts and in the gym under the guidance of Toni Nadal, Rafa Nadal's uncle and original coach, and the Academy staff.

“The standard of coaching at the Academy is very good and I think they’re doing a great job," Björn Borg said. "That’s why my son has come here, I’m very happy about that and I hope many more come in the future because the Academy is very good."

The younger Borg has played much of his recent ITF matches on hard courts where he's enjoyed his greatest success.

Leo Borg portrayed his father as a teenager in the movie Borg vs. McEnroe.

During his three-day stay at the Academy last summer, the 11-time Grand Slam champion enjoyed the facilities at the Rafa Nadal Sports Centre in Manacor.

“I’m very happy to have come to the Rafa Nadal Academy," the Hall of Famer said. "I’d heard good things about this place, but spending three days here has confirmed it, it’s incredible. I have really enjoyed myself.
