A shoulder injury will keep Iga Swiatek off the court until Wimbledon.

The World No.1 announced the news on Friday, saying that she would have to pull out of next week’s Bett1 Open in Berlin.

“Due to a recurrent discomfort I am feeling in my shoulder, unfortunately I need to withdraw from the bett1open in Berlin,” Swiatek posted on Twitter. “I'm sorry I will not be able to play there. I will focus on recovery and rest in order to be ready for Wimbledon.”

Swiatek is riding a 35-match winning streak, which is tied with Venus Williams for the longest since 2000, and owns a 44-3 record in 2022.

She carries a 4-4 lifetime record on grass, having reached the round of 16 at SW19 last year, before falling to Ons Jabeur in three sets.
