Nick Kyrgios, Jordan Thompson, Sam Groth and John Peers were named to Team Australia by captain Lleyton Hewitt.

The tie marks the second straight year the two traditional Davis Cup powers have squared off on Australian soil.

A year ago, the Americans defeated host Australia, 3-1, in the Davis Cup first-round tie staged in Kooyong raising its all-time record vs the green and gold to 26-20.

The winner of the Australia-U.S. tie will face either Italy or 2015 finalist Belgium in the September 15-17th Davis Cup semifinals.
