Breaking bread comes before break point in Davis Cup.

Before the 16 World Group nations square off in this weekend's Davis Cup opening round, players came together to celebrate the spirit of the longest-running annual international team competition in sports.

Founding Davis Cup nations will face off in Glasgow as Great Britain hosts the United States in the second straight opening-round clash between the two nations.

Germany's Benjamin Becker, Philipp Kohlschreiber, Jan-Lennard Struff and Andre Begemann will try to snap a seven-match Davis Cup losing streak to France when it hosts Les Bleus in Frankfurt.




Gael Monfils, Gilles Simon and Nicolas Mahut lead 2014 finalist France, which has lost just one World Group opener in the last 13 years.

Australia boasts past and possible future champions as Lleyton Hewitt anchors a green-and-gold squad that features Thanasi Kokkinakis, Sam Groth and Bernard Tomic.

The Aussies will face the host Czech Republic on the hard court of Ostrava. Lukas Rosol and Jiri Vesely lead the host, which has won two of the last three Davis Cup championships, but opens the 2015 campaign without standouts Tomas Berdych or Radek Stepanek.




A dynamic Italian team led by Australian Open doubles champions Fabio Fognini and Simone Bolelli and Andreas Seppi, the man who upset Roger Federer in Melbourne, looks ready for action in Kazakhstan ahead of this weekend's tie in Astana.




Team Canada — Milos Raonic, captain Martin Laurendeau, Vasek Pospisil, Frank Dancevic and Daniel Nestor — hit the beach in Vancouver. Canada hosts world No. 4 Kei Nishikori and Japan, which beat Canada in the 2014 opener.
