Video: Francesca Schiavone Rips ‘Tweener Winner in Monterrey



In an otherwise uneventful, 7-6(2), 6-0 loss to Caroline Garcia in the Monterrey quarterfinals, Francesca Schiavone reached deep into her bag of tricks to pull out this front-facing ‘tweener, which she proceeded to whip past Garcia for a clean winner.

It was an absolutely fantastic shot, but the shot itself may even pale in comparison to Schiavone’s reaction. That is a smile for the ages, isn't it? Unfortunately, the shot and the reaction did not help the Italian avoid a second-set bagel at the hands of Garcia.

An aside: We were pretty psyched to see that Schiavone herself tweeted the gfycat video of her shot (which we made ourselves, thank you!).
