Four Teenagers Are Inside ATP’s Top 100 for First Time Since ‘08

The kids are alright on the ATP Tour this season, and after challenger triumphs by Alexander Zverev and Thanasi Kokkinakis on Sunday, they’ve collectively done something that hasn’t happened since August of 2008:

Back then the four players were Juan Martin del Potro (17), Marin Cilic (31), Ernests Gulbis (40) and Donald Young (99).

Meanwhile, another teenager, Russia’s 17-year-old Andrey Rublev, has been making pretty big strides as well. Rublev improved to 5-0 at the ATP level this year and is he first player to win five first-rounders at the tour level since Rafael Nadal in 2004.
