In a clash of former French Open semifinalists, Genie Bouchard's hopes for another extended Roland Garros run went slip, sliding away.

Timea Bacsinszky turned around a 1-4 deficit with a 10-game tear to take a one-set, 5-0 lead.

The 2015 semifinalist swept Bouchard, 6-4, 6-4, to secure her third-round spot.

Bouchard, who reached the final four in 2014, briefly lost her feet, but said losing focus was the bigger issue.

"I put myself in a good position in preparation and everything. I've done everything that I possibly could to be ready. I started out strong," Bouchard said. "The game plan was working and things like that. So I think I lost focus a little bit. You know, her with her back a little bit against the wall she definitely raised her level."

The 2014 Wimbledon finalist said she never fully recovered from her 10-game slide.

"Yeah, it's unacceptable really to lose ten games in a row in a match," Bouchard said. "I think that my focus a little bit was the part that let me down, the mental part. Something I've been working on. I had been getting better, so it's not always going to be good."

The eighth-seeded Bacsinszky believes Bouchard is regaining her form.

"I did not expect her to win easily against (Laura) Siegemund,so she's fighting back," Bacsinszky said. "She's coming back. And we will have to take her into account for the future."
