Let the comeback begin.

After suffering a fractured patella at the Shanghai Masters, Juan Martin del Potro had to end his season and skip out on the ATP Finals. The Argentine took to social media earlier in the week to express his feelings about his most recent injury, saying “My injury was a hard blow, it was hard to take it in, and even today I’m having a hard time seeing myself out of the World Tour Finals, out of the tour, not being able to end one of the best seasons of my career due to another injury, due to bad luck.”

But Del Potro said he is finding the strength to begin another comeback and added that he’s taking the advice of his doctors and starting to follow a plan.

On Friday he released his first inspirational video, with scenes of him rehabbing the knee.

It is still unclear whether Del Potro will be able to begin the season in January.

The 30-year-old finishes his season ranked at No.4 in the world. He reached the U.S. Open final in 2018 and also won his first Masters 1000 title at Indian Wells. In total, he went 47-13 with two titles.
