With his straight-sets win over Gilles Simon on Thursday in Paris, Novak Djokovic has eclipsed his own record for most consecutive sets won with 26.

We tweeted the above graphic, which was supplied by the ATP, and couldn’t help notice that this is Djokovic’s second streak of 22 or more sets won consecutively THIS YEAR.

The streak is the longest of Djokovic’s career. He won 24 consecutively in late 2013 and early 2014.

Novak can pass both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal's best consecutive sets streak by week's end. Federer’s longest set win streak is 31, beginning with his 2nd round robin match at the 2006 Tennis Masters Cup and ending in the 2007 Dubai 1st round (included all 21 sets at 2007 Australian Open).

Nadal’s longest set win streak is 30, beginning with his opening match at 2012 Rome and ending in the 2012 Roland Garros final (Djokovic snapped the streak).

Djokovic will face Tomas Berdych in the quarterfinals in Paris on Friday—a player he has defeated in straight sets 12 times. In other words, where it stops, nobody knows…
