19-year-old South Korean Hyeon Chung reached his first ATP quarterfinal with a 6-2, 6-0 drubbing of Great Britain’s Aljaz Bedene at the Shenzhen Open in China. The rising star has notched four Challenger-level titles in 2015 and risen all the way to No. 58 in the rankings.

Chung improves to 12-9 at the Tour-level in 2015 and is the second highest-ranked teenager on the ATP Tour behind only Borna Coric.

He will bid for his first career Top-20 win when he faces Marin Cilic on Friday in Shenzhen.

Cilic notched a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory over Aussie John Millman to improve his 2015 record to 24-14.

Cilic defeated Chung in straight sets in their only career meeting two months ago in Washington, D.C.

4th-seeded Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and 5th-seeded Adrian Mannarino also advanced on Thursday in Shenzhen. Here is the quarterfinal slate:
