Could there be an easier shot to make, er, miss?

Check out Nick Kyrgios’ inexplicably hilarious unforced error vs. Benoit Paire during their quarterfinal on Friday. It was a strange match from the onset, as these two talented, eclectic and mercurial players both had trouble with their emotions and consistency.

Unfortunately for fans, neither player used their changeovers for nap time, as they’ve been known to do in the past.

In the end Paire notched the come-from-behind three-set win to set up a semifinal with Kei Nishikori in Tokyo. Kyrgios was smiling on this point, but he won’t be smiling about the fact that he was in control of the match until very late in the second set before he let his chance for back-to-back semifinals slip away.
