"After 9 years of working together literally day in and day out, I have decided it is time for a new voice," Nishikori posted on Twitter. "I am forever grateful for Dante’s contributions to my career and we will obviously remain very close friends. I appreciate so much the last 9 years and our friendship."

The ninth-ranked Nishikori will continue working with Hall of Famer Michael Chang.

The Japanese baseliner met Bottini at the IMG Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida and their partnership flourished for nearly a decade.

Bottini helped Nishikori rise to a career-high rank of No. 4 in 2015.

Under Bottini's guidance, Nishikori became the first Asian male to contest a Grand Slam final at the US Open where he knocked off Milos Raonic, Stan Wawrinka and Novak Djokovic before bowing to Marin Cilic in the final.

The 29-year-old Nishikori opened the season defeating Daniil Medvedev to win his 12th career title in Brisbane and went on to reach quarterfinals at the Australian Open, Rome, Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
