Nadal Places Trophy in Museum, Thanks Fans

Rafael Nadal has a message for his fans: he hears you and believes your support aided his run to his 13th Roland Garros crown.

The king of clay defeated Novak Djokovic in the French Open final to collect his 20th Grand Slam title and equal Roger Federer's milestone mark for most men's majors.

Murray: Nadal's Record May Be Best in Sport

The 34-year-old Spaniard returned home to Mallorca and delivered La Coupe des Mousquetaires awarded to the Rafa Nadal Museum Xperience on the grounds of the Rafa Nadal Academy so that all fans can see it.

If Nadal, who has won six of his last seven Grand Slam finals, continues his major success looks like he's going to need a larger trophy case. It was Nadal's record sixth major championship since he celebrated his 30th birthday.

Nadal took time out to send a message of thanks to all his fans for the support he has received.

“Of ourse I’m very happy and satisfied with what I have achieved. It’s no less true that it’s a bittersweet feeling because we have been through some very complicated months in various senses and the most important thing is health," Nadal said. "The second is the economic situation, which is causing many families to go through a hard time. We have to trust that all of this will improve, trust that the vaccine will come as soon as possible and that we can all go back to living in a more pleasant world and being happier.

"I also wanted to thank you for all the messages of support over the last few weeks. To me, although we have been a little more distanced than normal, as we have not been able to have direct contact, receiving so many messages of support on social media and directly to my mobile has helped me, without a doubt. Thank you so much for the support."

The Rafa Nadal Museum Xperience is the first and only exhibition of Nadal’s trophies and also boasts the highlights of his sporting career from when he started out in tennis as just a boy up until today. The tour not only includes trophies, but also the shirts and Nike shoes in which Rafa won each of the Grand Slam finals he has played throughout his career.
