Federer & Nadal Know How To Shave i.e. New Gillette Video: Does Murray?
To shave or not to shave... that is the question?

Roger Federer
is known for his classic and conservative look on court... Does this have something to do with his clean-shaven face or well-kept hair?

Does any of this correlate with his 16 Grand Slam titles?

Check out this awesome new video:

Okay, so I have been reading all of the tennis mediums and noticed several things popping up about former Davis Cup captain and successful business man, David Lloyd, making comments about fuzzy-muzzy
Andy Murray and how his appearance reflects his success (or lack there of...?).

“If you look at Nadal, Djokovic and Federer when they come on the court, they have a demeanor," Lloyd express to the BBC. "They are exceptionally well-dressed and clean-shaven. Andy doesn't come on like that. I know it's a silly thing, but mental stuff in tennis is so important.

Then he makes it a little less painful and gets out of the aesthetics:
"It's a one-to-one game. If Andy could change his image a little bit and go on with a little bit more fight. When players get to the third of fourth set of a five-setter, he's not going to be as tough mentally as them."

“I think he just needs a mental change and a change in his attitude. I would concentrate on finding a coach of real power who is not going to bow down to Andy and stand up to him."

Then I think he started feeling a tad bit guilty when he realized he could hurt Muz's feelings and kinda takes it all back saying that criticism is unfair and that he playing well:
"Andy is a very good tennis player. I think the criticism is unfair. He is definitely the third or fourth best in the world, but really he's not quite as good as those three guys ahead of him

"It's not that he played badly at Wimbledon. If he is going to become that slightly better player - number two or number one in the world - he has to get more percentage of first serves. Then he can win a major. Otherwise, he's not quite good enough."

"He hasn't let us down - he played to the best of his ability - and it's a pretty good thing. He has great shots in him - one of the best back-hands in the world.”

Quite the roller coaster of thoughts there.... ANYWAYS. WHAT DO YOU THINK? Will Murray changing his grooming habits change his chance for a Grand Slam? Will it do the same for other top tens? Mardy Fish?

Andre Agassi is proof that you can win Wimbledon with a little scruff and disheveled wig... I mean hair ;) Not to mention Bjorn Borg.

From what I hear all of those players carry superstitions about shaving during tournaments... like they are scared Delilah, the razor blade, is going to cut their power source like she did to Sampson's locks... However, God was the one insisting on him keeping his hair not some crazy human superstition.

THE funny thing is Murray said it has NOTHING to do with superstition. In fact he said, "I've been told to shave by a few people the last five or six days, and I just haven't got round to it."

"It's at the length now where it actually hurts, so I always put it off till I have a bit of time."

"I could get a razor sponsorship but the thing is, I wouldn't have the discipline. I think all the Gillette athletes have to shave every day."

"I probably wouldn't be able to keep that up."

Ahhhhh......... So he is plagued by the common-man disease: Sloth.

He admitted via social networks he was a tad embarrassed to be fluffy infront of Prince William and Kate, "I got to meet the duke and duchess of cambridge today, I was fairly tight as I'd just come off court was sweaty and disheveled, couldn't have looked less presentable would have at least had a shave if I'd known they were coming! Got rid of the fluff!"

In the end I say grow a full beard and long hair and own the look OR follow the in-crowd.

Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal Win ESPYs
Tennis Took Two ESPYS, neither were by the no. 1 players...
Despite only playing two tennis tournaments in 2011, Serena Williams won the Best Female Tennis player at the 2011 ESPYs.  She won the award over the 2011 Australian Open champ Kim Clijsters, the 2011 French Open champ Li Na, and World No. 1 since October 11 2010 Caroline Wozniacki (with the exception of the week she loaned it to Clijsters).

I'm guessing people are pumped about Williams' comeback and potential to dominate women's tennis again considering she won 2 slam tournaments before getting injured.

I'm not going to say I disagree with the results because women's tennis hasn't seen any dependable player to be on top of their game with the slams and the premier tournament titles being passed around by a variety of players. I'll admit I was leaning toward Li Na because of her wow major break through and wins- the Best Breakthrough Athlete went to Blake Griffin from the Los Angeles Clippers.

She was also nominated for Best Championship Performance for her 2010 Wimbledon win but it went to Tim Thomas for the Stanley Cup finals. Of course Rere's bottom shined:

The Best Male Tennis Player was Rafael Nadal. He was also nominated for Best Male Athlete, that when to Dirk Nowitzki, of the NBA.

He won the best tennis player over Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. I love Rafa butttttttttttttt... I think that Djokovic deserved this title. Nadal is yet to beat the Djoker this year-- only Federer has done that. I don't want to degrade Nadal's accomplishments but the man of the year is certainly the new No. 1 and Wimbledon champ- Novak.

Rafa wasn't as the ESPYs. He was out doing this:

Just kidding that was taken like two weeks ago....

Brooklyn Decker was there:
Maria Sharapova was there:

This year, nominees were officially announced during an ESPY nomination special airing at 8PM on June 24, 2011, followed by the 19th annual ESPY Awards ceremony which aired on ESPN live from Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 9PM ET.

Rumor Mill: Caroline Wozniacki Dating Rory McIlroy?
Caro kissing a golf star, McIlroy!
22-year-old Rory McIlroy won the US Open for golf and 21-year-old Caroline Wozniacki will attempt her first slam win at the up-and-coming US Open at Flushing Meadows. The two were spotted canoodling in London at the All Bar One over a glass of water by a blogger, who posted it on twitter but quickly had regrets for invading their privacy...

So, why is this a scandal? Wozniacki hasn't been linked with anyone in the past couple of months, however, Irishman McIlroy released a statement saying that he had recently split with long-time girlfriend, Holly Sweeney.

“Rory McIlroy’s long-term relationship with Holly Sweeney came to an amicable end before the British Open,” according to an International Sports Management spokesman.

The couple have been known for breaking up and getting back together. Two weeks previous, McIlroy reported that he grovelled to win Sweeney back  and also, said that she is the inspiration behind his U.S. Open success.

McIlroy was spotted several times at Wimbledon but was never seen with Ms. Wozniacki.

In the end, this could be a friendship and a typical European peck between the World No. 1 Dane and the golfer but who knows???

There was some flirty twitter talk between the two.

McIlroyRory
"@CaroWozniacki happy birthday! You're getting old ;)"

CaroWozniacki tweeted him several times,

"@McIlroyRory haha I know! But still not as old as you;) at least now you will be able to buy me a drink in the US haha.."
"... Not only in Hamburg lol.. ;) @McIlroyRory"
"@McIlroyRory good luck tomorrow! :)"

Let me know if you have any other evidence.
