Photographer of Iconic Tennis Poster Passes Away
The photographer, behind this distinctive image, Martin Elliot has sadly passed away. He was buried on April 9th in Truro.
You've seen the image before, a young woman basked in afternoon sunlight, walking towards a net with a few scattered tennis balls on the ground. She is wearing a white dress and gently raising her skirt, exposing the hidden naked flesh of her derrière.

This iconic photograph, taken by British photographer Martin Elliot, has graced the pages of many magazines, the walls of several adolescent boys, and the pages of multiple websites. It is an image that embodies a dizzying giddiness, a frolicsome attitude. For many, the picture radiates youth, beauty and leisure. For many, it will linger as an iconic memory.

Unfortunately, the photorgapher, behind this distinctive image, Martin Elliot has sadly passed away. He was buried on April 9th in Truro.

When he commented on this shot, Elliot claimed it was "the most published photograph in the world." The photograph was of 18 year-old Fiona Butler on a tennis court at a university in Birmingham. Elliot retained the copyright which later became a very lucrative photograph though he has never disclosed how much he made from the photo.

What do you think about this photograph? Let me know in the comments.
